Leftover Twinchies

I have some quick Twinchies today to share and like food I often think “Leftovers” are better.

These twinchies I have made from the remainder of my “Mum” Quilling projects, here are the links if you missed them and

I hope you like them.

See you again soon

Chinese Calligraphy Twinchies

I have some Twinchies today to share.

As a fan of calligraphy and font type things I thought I would do a set of Chinese Calligraphy Twinchies.  I think it important to state that these are my interpretation only and I apologise for any inaccuracies or errors.

I chose words that I think are poignant and important to me.

Thanks for stopping by.

Quilled Chess Set

Hello and Happy Easter

I have wanted to make a quilled Chess Set for many many years and I have finally got around to making one this weekend.

I used a pile of papers destined for the recycling bin to make my own strips and I painted the finished pieces in acrylic paint.

Like anything, if I was to make this again there are many things I would do differently but overall I am very happy with the outcome.  I just need to make a matching board now.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for visiting.

Crochet Square Not Yet A Blanket

I recently shared a baby blanket I had made for a friend which my 2 boys took a liking to. Here is the link to the original post if you missed it:

It was the first time I had used this pattern and whilst it was nice to do, it left me a huge number of ends to darn in, of which I am not a fan. So, I have been playing with the pattern and adapted it to make squares in one continuous motion.

The original pattern used wiggly lines starting at one edge and finishing on the opposite side.  I wondered what would happen if you start in the corner and do the same wiggly line working diagonally and this is what I ended up with.  I also attached each section to the previous line to form boxes.

I’m quite pleased with it. However the square measures 7.5″ and took approximately 2.5 hours to make.  So a few more squares needed to make a single blanket.  It might be done by winter!

I hope you like it.

Have a great weekend.

Butterfly and Daisy Collage in Salmon

I have a card to share today which uses the fabulous Butterfly and Daisy Collage stamp from Chocolate Baroque.

I stamped the image in black ink onto a patterned paper and coloured the butterfly in using watercolours.

I stamped a corner from the same set and used gilding flakes on 2 corners.

For the background I stamped a flourish stamp from my stash onto coordinated coloured card.

I used white watercolour for the Daisy and added highlights to the Butterfly which really finishes the card.

I hope you like it.  Please visit again soon.

Michael Powell Image in Pencil

I have a card to share today which uses a Michael Powell stamp, which I have stamped and coloured with pencils.

For the background, I started with acrylic paint in yellow and green which I sponged over.  I then used a myriad of stamps including a lily, a butterfly and a text stamp to create interest and texture.

I love colouring and this was so relaxing.
