Butterfly Flourish in pink

I have a simple but pretty card today.

I started with the topper. I used pastels to create the background by blending purple and blue pastels together until the card was sufficiently covered.

I then stamped in black ink and clear embossing powder the butterfly stamp from my stash.

I used various flourish stamps to accent the pink background layer and to add interest.

Finally, I added a purple layer with a co-ordinated paper ribbon (made using paper punches) and a corner punch on 2 corners.

A simple but pretty card I think.

Monochrome Stamped Star

I have another card to share today.

I love collage stamping and here I have utilised the waste from a die cut to create a mask.

I used a selection of stamps from my stash, including a flourish, text, harlequin and filigree and overstamped until the shape was sufficiently filled.

I added some ink with a sponge around the edge of the mask to add definition.

For the background, I used some large diecuts in grey and sparkly black.

I like the grey tones and think this would make a fantastic masculine card.

Thanks for visiting.

Cupcakes Bonanza

I have a quick share today and I love this card…mainly because I love cupcakes (or fairy cakes when I was a child) but at least this sort has fewer calories!

I love stamping in a circle and I think it looks interesting.

I always start stamping in North, South, East & West positions and then I mask the images (although in this case I didn’t need to because they wouldn’t be overlapping) and stamp in between.

I coloured the images using coloured pencils for a subtle look.

I layered an assortment of co-ordinating papers behind the main image and I added detail around the edge with a fine black pen.

Lastly I added a beautiful paper rose which I had created using a floral die from my collection.

A very happy cheery card to make you smile.

Thanks for visiting.

Another Patchwork Project – Max

I know I should finish one project before starting another, but I can’t help it.

I bought another pattern from Heidi Bears – Max The Bulldog.  He is adorable so I set immediately to cutting patchwork shapes to make him.

I made great progress and quickly made 2 legs…

But that is where progress halted unfortunately and I had to step away to make dinner for the kiddies … it was difficult to put it down!

Can’t wait until I get time to do more.
