Watercolour Fuschia Celebration

Hello

Sorry I have been absent for a while.  I have been otherwise busy with a poorly dog, who went in for routine surgery (Castration) but had awful complications resulting in 2 generals within 5 days, needless to say he has been somewhat down and pained.  However, I am happy to report he is now recovering well and getting back to his normal naughty self…thank goodness.

Time for a quick share of a card I made.  I love fuschias and used 2 sorts here.

I painted the diecuts and coloured the stamped images with markers.

I hope you like it.

Autumn Leaves are Falling Down

Hello

I have another autumnal card to share today.

WP_20140806_031

For my tile card, I started by cutting 12 pieces of card, each 2 inch square (twinchie size), from 4 different shades of green.  I then used some Spellbinder leaf dies on each square cutting theshape over the edge to leave the negative shape.

I cut a further 12 tiles and painted with shades of green acrylic paint, leaving lots of paint strokes for added texture and interest.  I mounted my tiles together using 3D foam tape to add height and arranged them into a grid, then mounted all of them onto a piece of card and patterned paper.

I painted the chipboard letters to co-ordinate and arranged them onto my grid with skeleton leaves.

Thanks for visiting.

See you again soon.

Mixed Media Floral Tomorrow

Hello

I have a “Mixed Media” project to share today.

WP_20140821_019

I started with a Gelli Print I had made using the Gelli Plate with acrylic paints in shades of pink, red, orange and yellow.

WP_20140819_004

I drew a flower using a Sharpie and coloured in using Spectrum Noir pencils.

WP_20140819_017

I splodged yellow acrylic paint randomly through sections of “That Special Touch” Basket Weave Mask and left to dry completely.  I then repeated the process using red acrylic paint and the Moroccan mask.

WP_20140819_031

The last mask I used was “That Special Touch” Leafy and this time I used 3D Clear Texture Paste and applied through sections.  It is white when it goes on but clear and shiny when it is dry.

I then cut lots of diecuts:

Sizzix Interlocking Circles Border Die in pale yellow (which I inked with orange and red ink randomly and tore roughly into 2 sections)

Sizzix Bigz Decorative Accent w/Flower & Leaves in orange foam (which I again stained with ink)

XCut Alphabet die (which I layered onto red cardstock)

I then arranged all the diecuts and added handwritten words.

I hope you like.  As always, I would love to hear your comments.

Pink and Purple Butterflies

Hello

I have another card on the same theme as http://wp.me/p385yc-qg but this time in pink & purple.

WP_20140825_017

I started with stamping the butterflies in purple ink and colourised the background with pink and purple pastels.

WP_20140825_025

I used a Sue Wilson die to cut out a border but did not use the outside edge so the die stayed in the stamping. I used an XCut die for the letters which I arranged on a length of ribbon.

A little matting and layering and the addition of a purple butterfly … of course! and the card is finished.

I hope you like it.

TIME and LOVE in MIXED MEDIA

Hello

I hope you are having a good week.  I would like to share a project which I have just finished.

20140708_143833

This has been an unfinished project for soooooo long I was unsure if it ever would get finished.

20140708_143854

I started with some collage stamping and inking to create a background.

20140708_143846

I cut loads of diecuts in blue and grey shades on a vintage time theme, which I distressed with rub-on wax and arranged randomly.

20140708_143916

I also cut letters to make the words TIME and LOVE which I distressed and arranged.

20140708_143901

It is becoming a theme that I have to include a butterfly somewhere and I managed to find the right spot up in the corner.

I hope you like it.  As always, I would love to hear your comments.
