Mum’s Birthday Card

Hello

Today I have my Mum’s Birthday Card to share which I am quite ashamed to say I quickly threw together.

I die cut the vases out of some patterned paper which to me resembled old fashioned crockery, which I thought my Mum would like.

I then raided my ready-made flower collection, which I never use as I tend to make flowers now. That being the case I thought I would be lavish and use loads, so I selected various flowers in a purple theme.

Shaping the vases here is vital to create the true vase shape.

I think she liked it and I wouldn’t be surprised if she will remove each vase to feature on her own cards or scrapbook pages.

Thanks for visiting.

Dad’s Big Birthday

Hello

I hope you are enjoying the sun we are currently having, I myself am hiding from it as much as I can as I prefer the cold (I know I’m weird).

However, I return today with a post. Many apologies for being absent last week, I have been rather busy with my Dad sadly still in hospital (now into 5 weeks), however, this week I thought I would review June birthday crafting which I wasn’t able to post at the time, so here is the first which features my Dad’s Birthday Card for a big birthday.

Totally inspired by my recent visit to Norway, which was so beautiful, I recreated a beautiful Fford by paper piecing a selection of papers representing the mountains, sky and sea.

WP_20150615_16_59_09_Pro

I added white acrylic paint, very heavy handed to simulate the snow on the very tall mountains.

My Dad is fascinated with Hot Air Balloons, and I have featured them before in previous years, but I thought it would make a perfect venue for the much needed addition of the number 80. I die cut the balloons which I watercoloured and added the numbers. I made the baskets using an oddment of webbing.

I hope you like it.

Rose and Lemon Butterfly

Hello

I have a quick card to share today with a butterfly on unsurprisingly….sorry!

WP_20150423_19_08_52_Pro

I started with a print using a spellbinder die which I then cut using a label shape.

WP_20150423_19_08_49_Pro

I added a few matts and flourish dies together with my butterfly…of course and the card is finished.

A quick and simple card but bright and jolly I think.

Thanks for visiting my little blog today.

Butterflies and Cogs Art Journal Page

Hello

I have a page of my rapidly growing Art Journal to share today.

I started with the butterfly stamps from Chocolate Baroque and the page grew from there.

WP_20150303_013

I used some Sizzix diecut cogs….

WP_20150303_018

I coloured the butterflies using pencils…

This was the background before the diecuts….

The 3D paste and clear embossing shows up better in real life but is visible here…

Blue Butterfly Dance

Hello

I was tidying up some photos and found these which I don’t think I have ever shared.

It was at the same time I did a guest post at Chocolate Baroque and I did this as an alternative colour option but I opted for the pink version to be found here if you missed it http://wp.me/p385yc-lW. However, looking back at it, I do like this colour scheme.

WP_20140408_040

I have used my very much loved technique of collage embossing folder on the background layer.

Get Well Soon Card

Hello

I have a quick Get Well Soon Card today for OH’s 92 year old Nan who is in hospital.

I try to keep a few topper items ready for last minute cards and found this butterfly decoupage which I thought would be perfect.

WP_20150412_10_51_36_Pro

As her eye sight is not the best I tried to make the card ‘touchy feely” and used a Sue Wilson background die on glitter cardstock so it has a nice texture.

I had recently watched Mel Heaton do her lovely ribbon rose and thought that would make a great finishing touch.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Watercolour Flowers & Beaded Dragonflies

Hello

I have a quick card to share today using an old stamp from my stash.

WP_20150303_022

I stamped onto an acrylic background and coloured using watercolour paints.

Finally, I added a length of my own crochet lace and 2 beaded dragonflies, which I had made previously.

I hope you like it.

40th Birthday Card

Hello

It’s my brother’s 40th Birthday today and I would like to share his card I made for him.

WP_20150327_12_48_32_Pro

I cut lots of 5mm strips of various blue patterned paper and glued each down to create a unique pattern.  I then die cut the letters to make Happy Birthday using 2 different XCut dies.

I hope you like it.  Please visit again soon to see the amigurumi I made for him.  P.S. He’s a Star Wars fan.
