Holly Tiles

Hello

I have a more time-consuming card to share today but I really enjoyed making this one.

I cut some inch tiles and then stamped onto each one a different part of a holly stamp. I coloured all images using pencils.

I used the same holly stamp onto patterned cardstock and coloured the image using alcohol markers.

Unfortunately, the photo doesn’t really pick up the depth in the image, in real life I am really pleased with this card.  A little bit different.

I can’t believe how quickly December goes.

Monochrome Christmas Holly

Hello

I have another monochrome Christmas card to share today. Here it is:

I stamped the Holly stamp using white embossing powder onto a tall piece of black card the same height as the base card but a fraction narrower.  The base card is an A4 black card folded in half lengthways.

I added a simple layer of silver holographic to make the stamping “pop”

I used matching layers for the Greeting across the card.

Blue Christmas Panel

Hello

I have another blue Christmas card today similar to http://wp.me/p385yc-uj using the same technique to create a panel.

WP_20141117_082

In brief this is what I did, if you missed it.

1. In pencil trace through “basketweave” mask.
2. Stamp mini images uniformed within the boundary of the mask.
3. Outline the pencil marks going around the images in fine pen (rub away pencil marks)
4. Shade for added depth.
5. Stamp background using large images but inking only sections for a random effect.

On this card I added Spellbinder borders and stamped a greeting in clear embossing powder.

I hope you like it. Please feel free to leave a comment.

Holly Wreath in Green

Hello

I have another card today similar to my previous post titled Double Holly Wreath card, here it is if you missed it: http://wp.me/p385yc-ud

WP_20141117_015

As in my previous post I created a Holly wreath using my favourite Holly stamp.  This time I positioned the stamp slightly different to create a different wreath shape.  I stamped in North, South, East and West positions with the berries resting on the line each time. I then filled in the gaps in the same way.

WP_20141117_020

I randomly stamped the same stamp to create the background using a toning ink to the card.

I cut some Spellbinders dies for the centre of my stamped wreath and stamped a greeting.

I hope you like it.

Blue Mini Stamp Square Christmas

Hello

It wasn’t going to be long until a blue card appeared and today is the day.  Here it is…

WP_20141117_108

WP_20141117_105
I started with a 6.5” square of white card and in pencil I traced the shapes of the basketweave mask from That Special Touch. I then stamped images from my mini Christmas stamp collection within the mask shape in a quite uniformed manner.  In a co-ordinated coloured pen I re-drew the mask shapes up to each image and rubbed out my pencil marks.

Here is the stamping…

WP_20141117_094

I masked each image off and stamped the background in a lighter ink using a Holly stamp, a Merry Christmas text stamp and a snow stamp. I stamped only sections of each stamp for a random background with no edges.

I added a little pencil shading to the basketweave shapes to make them appear 3D and less flat.

I mounted onto 2 co-ordinated layers to co-ordinate with the ink colours used.

WP_20141117_112

I stamped the Merry Christmas greeting firstly in the darker ink and then overstamped in the lighter ink offsetting slightly to create a shadow effect.  I placed the greeting to hide the one stamp I used which hadn’t been cleaned and stamped rather dirtily.

A little Holly embelishment using a sizzix die and a little faux stitching to finish.

Thanks for visiting. Please visit again soon.
